Ferdy has a serious appreciation for the finer things in life: laps, pets, catnip, and sleeping in positions that would make a chiropractor cringe.

Ferdinand is a wonderfully social boy who enjoys being around people and is always happy to accept an invitation onto your lap. Once he’s settled in, he’ll melt into you while you provide the ear scratches and gentle pets he so richly deserves. He’s affectionate without being demanding, and his laid-back, passive personality makes him an easygoing companion.

There is, however, one important thing you should know about Ferdinand: he is not interested in being picked up. He would much rather walk himself over, and climb onto your lap. He’s an independent guy! Respect his boundaries, and he’ll happily reward you with his sweet company.

And then there’s the catnip.

Ferdinand has a complicated relationship with catnip, and we’re not sure we’re comfortable being the ones to intervene or stage an intervention. Give him a little catnip and suddenly this dignified black-and-white gentleman becomes an absolute goofball. Add in his bizarre sleeping positions, and you’ll quickly discover that Ferdinand provides both companionship and complimentary entertainment.

If you’re looking for a social, affectionate, easygoing cat who will happily turn your lap into his personal lounge chair, and occasionally leave you wondering how on earth he fell asleep like that, Ferdinand might just be your guy.

Note, the adoption fee for a pet adoption from the Pembina Valley Humane Society includes their spay/neuter surgery, age appropriate vaccines and boosters, and a post-adoption exam at a local clinic.
