This grey/black boi has taken his Harry Potter namesake a little too seriously. By day, he’s a sunbathing, snack-loving house hippo. By night, well, he’s also a snack-loving house hippo, but with bigger opinions.

Padfoot believes first impressions are important, which is why he likes to loudly announce himself when meeting new people. It’s mostly for dramatic effect. Toss a few Tim Hortons Timbits his way, and suddenly you’re no longer a suspicious stranger… you’re his suspicious stranger, which is basically friendship.

Like any complex magical being, Padfoot has boundaries. He can be a little touch-sensitive at times, but he’s pretty good at letting you know about it. He’s the kind of guy who speaks volumes without saying a word, his body language will say “Not right now, thanks.” Respect his space, and you’ll earn those top-tier belly rub moments that feel like you’ve unlocked a secret level.

Padfoot was recently diagnosed with kidney disease, so he’s on a special diet to keep him feeling his best. He doesn’t love the idea of “watching what he eats,” but he does love feeling good, and  he still eagerly accepts Timbits as a source of additional “medicine” for the soul.

Currently living his best spoiled life in foster care, Padfoot has really leaned into his retirement era. His ideal day includes a pup cup, some backyard fetch (emphasis on yard, not a 5km hike), aggressive napping, and soaking up the sun like he’s permanently on vacation in Florida. He drinks water like every gulp is the first one he’s had in years (bring a towel), and he takes his job as “Doorbell” very seriously.

Padfoot is looking for a quiet, adult-only home with no other animals, he’s loyal to his people, happiest in his own space, and would love nothing more than to be your devoted, slightly dramatic, endlessly endearing companion.

He’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but if you’re looking for a big personality, a bigger heart, and a best friend who will share your couch (and drool over your snack choices), Padfoot might just be the dude for you.
