Friar Tuck
A gentle giant with the heart of a hero!
IN SHELTER | NOT READY FOR ADOPTION, BUT ACCEPTING PRE-APPLICATIONS
We know of him from the pages of story books, but now within the walls of our shelter, Friar Tuck is here; not with a merry band, but with a story of quiet bravery and resilience that would make even Robin Hood proud.
This noble boy came into our care as an emergency, bearing the marks of a battle we may never fully understand. With a severe injury to his front left chest and shoulder, along with multiple puncture wounds across his body, Friar Tuck had every reason to be fearful, guarded, or overwhelmed. And yet…he chose to be gentle.
Despite his pain, despite the new environment and people, Friar Tuck has shown nothing but patience, trust, and a kind spirit that speaks volumes about the dog he is. Each day, as he receives the care he needs (multiple daily wound treatments and cleanings to help heal deep infections) he faces it all with quiet courage. No fuss, no fight, just stoic bravery.
Like the storybooks, this is no small Friar. At over 100lbs, Friar Tuck is a very big boy. But not once has he used his size to resist care or make demands. Instead, he leans into kindness, proving that true strength isn’t measured in pounds, but in heart.
For now, Friar Tuck remains on bed rest as his healing journey continues. Because of this, we’re still getting to know all the wonderful layers of his personality. What we do know about him already is that he is something special. Beneath his wounds is a deeply good soul, one who trusts, endures, and loves with a quiet steadiness.
As his story continues to unfold, we’ll be learning more about the companion he will become. But one thing we know for sure, this brave boy deserves a happy ending worthy of legend.
