Holiday Giving at PVHS
The holiday season is one of the most important times of the year for the animals in our care
and we have a few ways you can make a difference this December!
Operation Santa Paws
Operation Santa Paws is in full swing, and we’re collecting much-needed canned food and litter for the pets at PVHS. With over 200 animals coming through our doors each year, we go through an incredible amount of supplies. This annual drive helps us stock up so we don’t have to use monetary donations to purchase them throughout the year.
Our 2025 Goals:
- 300 cans of wet dog and cat food
- 100 cans of wet kitten and puppy food
- 50 boxes of litter
Drop-off Locations:
Winkler: Winkler Collar Club, Pet Valu, Best West Pet Foods
Morden: Hearth & Hound or PVHS Shelter (462 Jefferson Street)
Altona: Hearth & Hound
Winnipeg: Email Lyssdenora@icloud.com for drop-off details.
Prefer online shopping? You can also donate through our Amazon Wishlist, and items will ship straight to our door.
Celebrating the season with gratitude for these amazing businesses!

The PVHS is located on the original lands of the Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota and Dene peoples, and on the homeland of the Métis Nation. We respect the Treaties that were made on these territories, we acknowledge the harms and mistakes of the past, and we dedicate ourselves to moving forward in partnership with Indigenous communities in a spirit of reconciliation and collaboration.
