IN SHELTER

Once upon a time, a spirited young lady named Perdita set off on a grand adventure in search of her happily-ever-after. While she may have taken a little adventure detour and stopped off with us, but we hope it doesn’t slow her down too much! Perdita has a heart big enough to rival any Disney heroine, and she’s ready to share it with someone very special!

Perdita is a lively, joyful girl who greets everyday with the kind of enthusiasm usually reserved for the grand finale of a Disney musical. She absolutely adores people and believes every human she meets might secretly be her long-lost best friend. If you’re lucky, you’ll even receive one of her signature full-body hugs, it’s her way of saying, “You’re my favorite character in this story right now.”

This smarty-pants is always ready to learn new things. She takes treats politely (a true lady!) and walks quite nicely on leash once her initial excitement settles — after all, even princesses sometimes need a moment to gather their composure.

One of Perdita’s most charming quirks is her famous “nervous body pancake.” When she’s unsure about something, she dissolves entirely into the floor, forming a spotted puddle of dog. Coming in at around 60 lbs. it can make for a pretty good eye roll moment (for all on-lookers it’s hilarious) — but with patience, encouragement, and a loving guide, she’s already learning that there aren’t that many pancake moments really.

When she’s feeling confident and happy, Perdita unleashes her legendary zoomies, these are joyful bursts of energy that would make even the fastest Disney sidekick struggle to keep up.

And, because every fairy tale has a few important details: Perdita would do best in a home without cats. She may enjoy having a canine companion to share adventures with, she just hasn’t had much opportunity to socialize yet, but she’s young, bright, and full of potential — the perfect recipe for a beautiful transformation story.

All Perdita needs now is a family willing to be her guiding stars — someone patient, kind, and ready to help this lovable heroine grow into the confident leading lady she’s meant to be.
