IN SHELTER 

Odin (Odie) is a gentle soul with a heart that just needs a little patience to see it open.

The world can feel a bit big and scary to him at first, so we’d like to see Odin get more than one visit with his adopter to really get comfortable. But once you’ve earned his trust, and he’s accepted you into his circle of friends,  you’ll discover the sweetest surprise: a goofy, affectionate boy who loves to make his people smile and laugh.

Odin takes great pride in his little space here at the shelter, carefully collecting his beloved stuffed animals like treasure, and keeping them organized on his bed. He enjoys the simple things in life — a cozy blanket to relax on, someone in close company while he eats his meals, and the comfort of knowing he’s safe. While the outside world still makes him a little nervous, he’s working hard every day with positive reinforcement and gentle encouragement. He’s so smart and doing so well! 

What Odin really needs now is someone patient and steadfast to give him the time he deserves. Because once you’re in his circle, you’re in it forever and you’ll have the most loyal, silly, soft-hearted companion by your side.

Sometimes the most fulfilling friendships are the ones that take a little time to grow.

Note, the adoption fee for a pet adoption from the Pembina Valley Humane Society includes their spay/neuter surgery, age appropriate vaccines and boosters, and a post-adoption exam at a local clinic.
