IN FOSTER

Isla is busy mastering the fine art of being a puppy, and let us tell you… she’s taking the curriculum VERY seriously! Currently enjoying top-notch care in her loving foster home, this little lady is growing, learning, and discovering all the wonderful (and occasionally chewable) things the world has to offer.

Isla is already making great strides with her potty training! She’s learning how to let her people know when nature calls, although we’re beginning to suspect that sometimes her urgent potty requests are actually elaborate schemes to get outside and investigate the neighbourhood. We can’t blame her, the world is a very exciting place when you’re this small!

She’s also kennel trained, working on her leash skills, and has developed quite the entertaining hobby of chasing her own tail. Sometimes she gets going a little too enthusiastically and ends up making herself dizzy. Coordination? A work in progress. Entertainment value? Five stars.

Now, we do need to address the tiny elephant (or should we say tiny shark?) in the room. Isla is still very much in her puppy land-shark era. Ankles, toes, pant legs… apparently everything is fair game when you’re a teething baby with a mouth full of tiny daggers! She’ll need a family prepared for the usual puppy shenanigans, including consistent training, patience, redirection, and plenty of appropriate chew toys.

Isla is looking for a family ready to embrace all the joys, challenges, giggles, and occasional ankle attacks that come with raising a puppy. She’s still a little blank canvas with so much growing and learning ahead of her, and we can’t wait to see the wonderful dog she’ll become.

If you’ve been dreaming of adding a little sweetness, silliness, and a whole lot of puppy mischief to your life, Isla might just be your girl!

Note, the adoption fee for a pet adoption from the Pembina Valley Humane Society includes their spay/neuter surgery, age appropriate vaccines and boosters, and a post-adoption exam at a local clinic.
