IN SHELTER

Nettie is a fluffy grey masterpiece with the energy of someone who absolutely owns at least fourteen cardigans and enjoys talking about the weather from her rocking chair on a wrap around porch. Nettie is an old soul through and through. She’s quiet, thoughtful, independent, and carries herself like she’s seen things. Important things. Possibly the fall of rise of ancient civilizations, maybe the inauguration of a President or two. At very least, the bottom of an empty treat bag.

Nettie is not the type of cat to throw herself into your arms five minutes after meeting you. No, she prefers a more refined approach to companionship. She enjoys her personal space, values peaceful coexistence, and likes to decide for herself when affection is appropriate, which somehow makes the moments she does come over for pets feel incredibly special. Being chosen by Nettie feels less like a request for attendance and more like receiving a formal, wax sealed invitation to something very special.

She does wonderfully around other cats and is perfectly content sharing space peacefully, though she’s usually off to the side doing her own thing like the introverted queen she is. While the younger cats are busy causing chaos at top speed, Nettie is somewhere nearby quietly embodying emotional maturity.

And then there’s the fur.

Nettie’s coat is absolutely stunning, soft, luxurious, and gloriously fluffy. Maintaining such elegance does require regular grooming, but Nettie firmly believes beauty is a commitment, not a convenience. Think of her required grooming not as that of a “low maintenance pet” but more like a “tiny socialite requiring social spa days with her girls”.

Nettie would thrive in a calm home where she can exist at her own pace, lounge in sunbeams, and slowly build trust with people who appreciate quiet companionship. She may not be the loudest cat in the room, but she has the kind of gentle presence that settles into your heart before you even realize it.

If you’ve been searching for a companion who feels less like a pet and more like a wise little roommate with excellent fur, Nettie is waiting patiently for you.

Note, the adoption fee for a pet adoption from the Pembina Valley Humane Society includes their spay/neuter surgery, age appropriate vaccines and boosters, and a post-adoption exam at a local clinic. t
