Cat Chores - Pembina Valley Humane Society

Check chore order on whiteboard & complete one condo/room at a time following the chore order exactly.
Shift leader will administer medications (as you go – not at the end of the shift) & sign medication charts.
Open up cat guillotine doors, during nice weather, in rooms 3 & 4 to provide them with access to their outdoor enclosure on AM shifts (do this when you get to these rooms on the chore order – not at the start of the shift).
PM shift leader must get all cats in rooms 3 & 4 back in their room & close the guillotine door. (do this when you get to these rooms on the chore order – not at the end of the shift). Hang bungee cord outside of the room.
Clean rooms – wash shelves, replace dirty bedding, wash windows, doors, structures, sweep, mop
Clean condos – wash shelves, walls, roof, bars on doors, replace dirty bedding
Wash & dry food & water dishes (use separate cloth for each condo/room) – re-fill based on whiteboard feeding instructions. Make sure water dishes are filled FULL!
Do not waste food! If there is still food left in the dish, place it on a towel while you wash/dry the dish & then pour it back in. Add the next FULL feeding amount to the food in dish.
Scoop litter from litter boxes. Dump if necessary. Wash litter boxes in tub & dry completely. Re-fill based on type of litter indicated on whiteboard (don’t overfill) The SAME litter boxes currently in the room/condo must go back to the same room/condo.
Sanitize scoops, condo dividers, etc.
Sweet & mop lobby, bathroom, quarantine, adoption room.
Wipe surfaces in cat prep., lobby, bathroom, quarantine
Empty all garbages & put in fresh bags.
Start laundry.
Initial whiteboard.
Refer to the “End of Chores Checklist” & assist with those tasks if time allows.
