Poppy
Beauty and Grace…sort of! She’s a gentle giant in full bloom!
As soon as Poppy meets your, she’s your big-hearted (and big-headed) best friend! This glam girl is a large mixed-breed sweetheart with a soul as soft as her floppy little ears. Poppy is showing us that she is incredibly people-centered, and will bloom into a very well-mannered, loyal, and affectionate furry friend!
This beautiful blockhead enjoys nothing else in life as much as spreading the love—literally. Whether that’s her flopping across your lap like a 70-pound weighted blanket or stop, drop, and rolling to offer up her belly for rubs, Poppy’s idea of affection is full-body contact. She hasn’t quite figured out the whole “toys are for playing” thing yet, she just holds them in her mouth and then doesn’t understand what to do next. But I think she can figure it out if someone gives her the time!
Poppy is sensitive and shuts down easily if she thinks she’s in trouble, so a calm, reassuring home will help her confidence blossom. She gets along well with other dogs in the shelter and doesn’t seem to mind cats. Because her love sometimes comes at full speed, we recommend a home with children 12 and up who can handle her enthusiastic style.
