Adoptable Dogs

Thor

Large Breed
February 2018

It’s always scary when the life you know suddenly changes and you find yourself in a totally new environment.  Such is the case with Thor…his former owners went through a significant life change, and at the shelter, he’s confused about what’s going on.  It takes some time for Thor to feel comfortable with new people, but when he sees that you’re a nice person (with treats?) then he’ll be your best friend!

Thor is showing us to be a very goofy, playful boy.  He loves to play tug…almost as much as he loves food!  Because of some separation anxiety that will need to be worked on with his new family, he always wants to be near his people.  His previous family tells us that he loves to be outside, especially camping where there are so many new smells to investigate.

Dogs like Thor would greatly benefit from a quiet and calm foster home, where he can relax and decompress from his life change.  If you feel your home could be a good temporary environment for a dog in need, consider becoming a foster today: apply now!

Note, the adoption fee for a pet adopted from the Pembina Valley Humane Society includes their spay/neuter surgery, age-appropriate vaccines and boosters, and a post-adoption veterinary exam at a local clinic.
