Cliff

Extra Large Breed
September 2020

The Great Pyrenees is a majestic breed known for its large size and gentle nature, and Cliff is no exception. As a gentle giant, he loves his walks and attention from his human companions. His favorite toy is the Kong, and he is always excited to play with it.

While he gets along well with people, Cliff has some initial hesitation with other dogs. But with time and patience, his playful side comes out and the excitement of a new friend is so fun to see. His size tricks us into forgetting he is still a teenager (in dog years, of course).

One thing that will need continuous training is basic life skills. He is stubborn at times, but with repetition and patience he is slowly learning and improving. He has mastered sit, stay, and leave, but recall is still a work in progress. He just needs to meet his match with a stubborn owner to wait him out!

Meal time with Cliff can be a bit of a challenge, as he doesn’t seem to be too interested in his breakfast in the mornings. Instead, he prefers dental chews or treats. He will eat his food at dinner time and after his walks (gotta replace those calories).

Despite his stubborn streak, Cliff is an active and playful dog who loves to burn energy by playing tug of war and gnawing on bones. He is also known for his zoomies, which can be quite a sight. His excitement is contagious!

While Cliff enjoys his playtime, he also loves to sleep as close to his humans as possible. He is not much of a barker, but can get overly excited on a leash if other dogs or critters cross his path…he just wants to play!  However, he can be easily settled down with a little patience and training.

Overall, Cliff is a great dog who just needs a little extra training and patience to help him settle into your new home and become your new best friend.
