Mama Poinsettia came into our care with her four wee babies Spruce, Amaryllis, Cranberry and Cypress.  From her foster:

“Momma Poinsettia will make someone a very loving pet. She is one of the friendliest cats I have ever come across. She loves to climb up into your lap and enjoys pets and snuggles. Poinsettia is wary of strangers but is very quick to warm up to them. She isn’t super playful and would rather spend her time laying around and watching her babies run and play.

Poinsettia LOVES food and cat treats and does not miss a chance to eat. She is not a vocal cat and only uses soft meows in an attempt to call her kittens when they venture too far. Poinsettia became instant friends with the family dog. She has never shown any aggression to the dog, even when he ventures too close to her kittens she gives him a soft meow and “bumps” her body into him to tell him he is too close.”

Note, the adoption fee for a pet adopted from the Pembina Valley Humane Society includes their spay/neuter surgery, age-appropriate vaccines and boosters, and a post-adoption veterinary exam at a local clinic.
