The mission of the Pembina Valley Humane Society is to support humane and sustainable communities for all animals through education, advocacy, respect and responsibility.

Role:  Public Relations Chair and Co-Chair

Term:  2 Years

Authority/Responsibility:

  • Reviews the mandate of the committee as outlined by the board
  • Recruits an appropriate number of committee members to carry out the mandate
  • Orients committee members to their mandate and guides committee work
  • Calls committee meetings and develops agendas with input from members
  • Chairs committee meetings, records & files minutes
  • Reports committee progress to the board
  • Encourage member participation
  • Recognize member contributions
  • Orients the new Public Relations Chair/Co-Chair
  • Acts as a contact person & co-ordinates public relations events with committee
  • Delegates appropriate tasks to committee members
  • Makes sure PVHS participates in various community events
  • Creates  & distributes a quarterly newsletter
  • Represents PVHS in media interviews
  • Works with media to promote PVHS events
  • Responds to media inquiries
  • Become familiar with and adhere to board policy
